Story Time with Miss Ruby~ Tuesdays June 4, 11, 18 & 25; July 2 & 9  Selover Community Room

Burrow into some good books at summer story time on Tuesdays, just for 3-5 year olds.
Enjoy art, finger plays, music and more!

For programs on the Selover lawn, we encourage you to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Bring bottled water if you wish. If it rains, these outdoor programs will move to Chesterville United Methodist Church.

Week 1: The Earth Dome ~ Wednesday, June 5, 1:30 p.m**Highland High School Cafetorium

You don’t have to dig deep to go inside the Earth! Explore our planet inside and out with The Earth Balloon, a 19-feet high by 22-feet diameter inflatable earth balloon silkscreened with satellite photos. Who knew geography could be such enormous fun?

Week 2: Ohio Nature Education ~ Wednesday, June 12, 1:30 p.m.  Selover Lawn

Delve deep into nature with this program from Ohio Nature Education. Whether they dig, slither, or fly, you’ll love learning about Ohio’s creatures. Come meet some rescued animals and learn about their wild world!

 Week 3: Diggin’ for Dinos~ Wednesday, June 19, 1:30 p.m. Selover Lawn

Attention future paleontologists! Dr. T. Rex (Paul Adams) uses funny magic, zany puppets, original music, books, and TONS of audience participation to give children the chance to experience the real science behind the study of the most fascinating animals that ever lived: dinosaurs!


Week 4: Juggler Matt Jergens~ Wednesday, June 26, 1:30 p.m. Selover Lawn

Feel the amazement at comedy juggler Matt Jergens’ groundbreaking performance! He’ll fill the stage with flying pins, spinning plates, his tall unicycle, and laughter. Audience members get to help out with stunts, too! 

Week 5: Hiawatha Water Park~ Monday, July 1, through Friday, July 5 Noon-7:45 p.m.

Free for these five days to Summer Reading participants. Enjoy watery fun for the entire family: toddler activity area, Olympic-size pool, one-meter diving boards, 30-foot body slide, raindrop fountains, and playground area with many tunnels, platforms, and water jets.    **For free admission, you must show your Selover library card or reading log.


Week 6: Zap’s Magic World of Bubbles~ Wednesday, July 10, 1:30 p.m. **Highland High School Cafetorium

You’ll dig The Bubble Master, Bob Durante, as he amazes you with magic and bubbles! Is it possible to blow a bubble big enough to fit a person inside? Can bubbles make unusual shapes? You’ll bubble up with laughter as you find out the answer to these questions and more!
